Palestinian resistance crushed U.S., UK, Israel: IRGC chief

The head of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has praised the Palestinian resistance fighters’ stunning victory over Israel, asserting that their operation caused the Israeli regime and its supporters to crumble together.
Major General Hossein Salami made the comments on Thursday during a conference in the shrine city of Mashhad.
The Tel Aviv regime is still in disbelief following the triumph of the Hamas resistance group’s October 7 Operation Al-Aqsa Storm.
“Their defeat in Operation Al-Aqsa Storm was one of the most unforgettable, stunning and unprecedented defeats that crumbled the US, the UK and Israel together,” he asserted.
General Salami went on to add, “The United States bears responsibility for today’s developments in Palestine as it has been trying for years to portray the occupying regime as an angel of democracy and create a positive image for them.”
Salami said that the U.S. is attempting to revive Israel following its devastating loss.
“In the Muslim world, the Zionists are like an unwanted foreign object that has been implanted in this region and start new bloodshed every time and again,” he stressed.
At the UN Security Council meeting Tuesday on the situation in “the Middle East including Question of Palestine,” Iran’s ambassador to the UN, Saeid Iravani said, “Iran aligns with the international community in endorsing the call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and cessation of the Zionist regime of Israel’s uninterrupted military aggression.”
Israel’s brutal crimes against Gaza and the killing of the Palestinian people are a clear violation of international law on human rights, the ambassador announced.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani also said on Sunday that Israel has committed a number of “criminal acts” in Gaza and the international community needs to respond “seriously” to such crimes.
He also described Hamas’s Operation Al-Aqsa Storm as a “turning point” in the Palestinians’ fight against the Israeli regime.
“The reaction of the Zionist regime to the glorious resistance of the Palestinian people is criminal action in such a way that it takes revenge on the defenseless people in the Gaza Strip,” he added.
Denouncing the West’s inaction towards the crimes of Israel, the spokesman said, “With the silence of the U.S. and its allies on what is happening to the Palestinian people, the mask was removed from the faces of the so-called human rights advocates.”
Kanaani urged Muslim nations to stand with the Palestinians, pointing out that Palestinians are adamant in resisting the occupation regime.
“Islamic countries are obliged to support them,” Kanaani noted, adding, “Iran continues to support the resistance of the Palestinian people in the political field.”
Hamas initiated Operation Al-Aqsa Storm in reaction to Israeli transgressions at the al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East al-Quds and increasing settler violence against Palestinians.
With 1,400 Israeli deaths, the unexpected raid rocked the occupying entity’s security apparatus.
The beleaguered Gaza Strip has been hit by devastating strikes by the Tel Aviv regime in retaliation, which has so far resulted in the deaths of more than 7326 Palestinians—mostly women and children—and the injuries of 18,000 more.
Additionally, it has enforced a “complete siege” on Gaza, depriving the more than two million Palestinians who reside in the coastal enclave of food, water, medicine, and fuel.
