Ayatollah Khamenei delivered a live televised speech on Sunday morning to congratulate the nurses and nursing groups on the National Nurses Day, celebrated on the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zeynab (SA).
Offering condolences to the families of the nurses who died in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the Leader said the job of nurses -truly revered as “angels of mercy for patients”- has become more admirable and honorable in the eyes of people today.
Ayatollah Khamenei also called for the implementation of a law on setting tariffs on nursing services, which has already been ratified, in order to protect the livelihood of nurses.
The Leader further noted that the administrative officials had been reminded three or four years ago about the need to employ around 30,000 nurses, calling for serious action to carry out the employment plan.
