On the registration statistics of the candidates in the parliament’s final registration, the Spokesman for Iran’s Election Headquarters Mohsen Eslami announced on Sunday, October 22 that 90% are men and 10% are women.
According to Eslami, the volunteers consisted of candidates from four age groups: 30-40 years (30 percent), 40-50 years (36 percent), 50-60 years (25 percent), and 60-75 years (7 percent).
Eslami stated that 3% of candidates had been the parliament representative before, and 22% had a history of self-sacrifice.
During registration, the top 10 jobs of the candidates were revealed, including employee, retiree, teacher, professor, lawyer, judge, member of parliament, doctor, military personnel, and cleric.
The election headquarters spokesperson stated that Alborz, Tehran, Qom, Yazd, Khorasan Razavi, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Ardabil, Ilam, Lorestan, and Isfahan provinces have seats.
Eslami emphasized that the registration continues until Wednesday at 18:00 and the latest employment order approved by the relevant department can be uploaded as a document.
The final registration of the candidates for parliament started at 8:00 AM on Thursday, October 19 for one week. The candidates can complete the registration worksheet and upload the documents online through the website of the election unit of the Ministry of Interior.
Those candidates who registered in the pre-registration stage and received a tracking code are allowed to register for the final registration.
Mohammad Taghii Shahcheraghi, The Deputy for Political Affairs of the Interior Ministry mentioned that the registration process for candidates typically takes between 30 to 45 minutes. However, the duration may vary depending on the preparation and organization of the documents submitted by the candidates in advance. The election headquarters will notify the candidates of the necessary information through text messages.
The head of Iran’s election headquarters announced that candidates can change their registered constituencies from October 19th to October 25th during the final registration period.
The twelfth election of parliament and the sixth election of experts will be held on Friday, March 1.
