TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The administration of Iranian President-elect Ebrahim Raeisi will have to encounter continued sanctions as an undeniable fact, the spokesperson for President Hassan Rouhani’s administration said, adding that rationality and hard work are needed to face this and other challenges.

Speaking to reporters in his last press conference as the administration’s spokesperson on Monday, Ali Rabiee said the 13th administration, to be formed within the next few days under the presidency of Ebrahim Raeisi, will face a tough road ahead.

“We must all have reasonable expectations of the future administration. The next administration will also face the sanctions, which is an undeniable fact,” he noted.

The spokesman said the new administration will also have to struggle with the main challenges that Rouhani’s cabinet has been dealing with in the past eight years, including the climate change, drought, the coronavirus pandemic and the sanctions.

The sole effective way to address those challenges will be rationality, tolerance and hard work, he concluded.

President-elect Raeisi will take oath before the parliament after endorsement of his presidency by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

The former Judiciary chief of Iran won the June 18 presidential election by winning nearly 62 percent of the votes.
