Iran and Iraq explored ways to strengthen their cooperation in the medical field, expanding their already strong trade relations.

The discussions were held in Baghdad between Iraqi Health Minister Alaa al-Alwani and Iranian Deputy Health Minister Mohsen Assadi Lari.

Mohsen Assadi Lari affirmed that his country is committed to bolster its cooperation with Iraq in the area of healthcare.

He also held talks with head of the Iraqi National Medicine and Medical Equipment Marketing Company, Muzaffar Ali Abbas, discussing trades of pharmaceutical products and hospital equipment.

A delegation from Iran’s Ministry of Health and Medical Education accompanied by representatives from pharmaceutical companies has traveled to Iraq.

The delegation, headed by Mohsen Assadi Lari and the head of the Iranian emergency medical service, Pir-Hussein Kolivand, held talks with Iraqi Health Minister and the other senior officials of the Iraqi ministry.
