Iran FM consults with Syrian and Qatari counterparts on Gaza

In separate calls with Syrian and Qatari foreign ministers on Friday, Iran’s Amir Abdollahian conferred on the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, including the Israeli “genocide and war crimes” in the besieged enclave.

Discussing Iran’s latest diplomatic efforts, Hossein Amir Abdollahian talked with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad about Tehran’s efforts such as consultations and providing aid to Gazans.
The readiness of Palestinian resistance and other resistance groups in the region to counter the Tel Aviv regime along with the readiness of resistance groups to counter any possible scenario were among the key terms of discussion between the two sides.

The top Iranian diplomat censured the occupying Israeli regime for its “barbaric war crimes”, including the killing of women, children, civilians, and the extensive destruction of vital infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.

He also blamed the Zionist regime and the U.S. “responsible” for the consequences of war crimes in the Gaza Strip.
For his part, Mekdad pointed to Syria’s unwavering support for Palestine and the axis of resistance, emphasizing the need for the unity of the Islamic world to confront the Zionist apartheid regime.
He also put an emphasis on the necessity of being vigilant against the trickery of America and Israel.

Mekdad, in the end, called Syria’s principled position in support of Palestine “definite and unchangeable”.
In continuation of his political consultations with foreign ministers worldwide, Amir Abdollahian and Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman al-Thani exchanged opinions over the latest developments in Gaza.

The Iranian and Qatari sides both insisted on an “immediate cease-fire, end of war crimes and sending humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip”.
Some proposed initiatives regarding the possibility of a temporary ceasefire or expanding the scope of the war were also discussed between the Iranian and Qatari foreign ministers as well.
