Iran exported 55,000 tons of eggs to the target countries in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-July 21), Hamidreza Kashani, the chairman of Iran’s Union of Egg-Laying Hen producers announced.

According to Kashani, Iranian egg producers are expected to produce 1.35 million tons of eggs in the current Iranian calendar year, IRNA reported.
“Currently, about 110,000 tons of eggs are produced in the country every month, and in addition to meeting the domestic needs, a part of the surplus product is exported to the target countries, which is between 10,000 and 13,000 tons per month,” the official said.

He announced the export of Iran’s first egg shipment to Sudan and stated: “Currently, our country’s eggs are exported to Iraq, Afghanistan, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.”
According to the official, considering the current trend of production, over 150,000 tons of eggs are expected to be exported by the end of the current Iranian year (late March 2025).

Based on the Agriculture Ministry data, currently 1,700 egg production units and 600 chicken breeding units are active in the country.
Last year, 1,260,000 tons of eggs were produced in the country of which, about 136,000 tons were exported to other countries.
Iran has the capacity to produce 1.6 million tons of eggs annually.
Iranian eggs are mainly exported to neighboring countries including Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Qatar.
