Iran exports 110,000 tons of eggs in 8 months

Iran exported 110,000 tons of eggs valued at $130 million to the target countries in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-November 21), Naser Nabipour, the chairman of Tehran Union of Egg-Laying Hen producers announced.

According to Nabipour, Iranian eggs have been exported to various countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Qatar, Oman and the UAE, IRIB reported.
More than 90 percent of the mentioned amount has been exported to Iraq and Afghanistan, the official said.

The figure has exceeded the last year’s total export which was 55,000 tons, according to Nabipour.
Iran has the capacity to produce 1.6 million tons of eggs annually.

Iranian eggs are mainly exported to neighboring countries including Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Qatar.
